Congrats on the doe! Imo it's ok to get down and check for blood right away.if there's some blood,I give it half an hour even if it's getting dark just to make sure it goes down for the count. Not to mention it gives you a chance to "cool down" and get a clear head.

Upon talking to my buddy he said the neighbor hunts with a muzzleloader and was most likely emptying it. I didn't know if I was being shot at, someone shooting a deer after dark or what! I had just enough gray light to see maybe 40yards so I'm assuming he was just unloading.

I didn't have time to post a pic last night but here it is. This is my 4th deer taken in about 16yrs of doing this.

Update on the truck headlight the dingdong at advance and myself replaced the high beam bulb and not the right bulb and he told me it was a wiring issue. mechanic looked it over and says bulb is burned out advanced replaced the wrong bulb. I could have done the bulb but it was dark and my hands are too large to fit in the hole so advance did it for me. $40 to the mechanic to take the grill and headlight out and test all the wiring and a $5 bulb and I'm in business. Man this hunting stuff is expensive!!
