What a match made in heaven! .346" center to center (edge to edge minus .204") 5 shot group, off bags while prone. just about zero wind.

Rifle is a CZ-527 Varmint Kevlar 1-12" twist, 24" barrel. factory H.S. Precision kevlar stock

Load is as follows!

CAUTION: The following post includes loading data beyond currently published maximums for this cartridge. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Neither the writer, The High Road, nor the staff of THR assume any liability for any damage or injury resulting from use of this information.

Federal 205M primers, Remington RP brass, once fired. Full length sized. Trimmed to SAAMI specs (i don't remember offhand). 28 grains of H4895, (max is 27.7 grains, do not copy my load, WORK UP!) Velocity chronographed 5 shot average of 3,787 fps, with a 52 fps extreme spread. I had one shot go hi, 3820, the rest were right at 3780-3790.

Rifle doesn't seem to have any copper fouling. Butches Bore shine came out black/brown, not blue... my Tikka T3 shows BRIGHT blue... so who knows. So far this rifle is amazing!

Lets see your pet loads for the .204!

Generally, I load Hornady 40 grain V-Max in my 204 Rugers using Remington 7-1/2 primers and CFE223 powder. It works well in both my Savage 12 and 26" barrel AR-15.

The Sierra 39 grain Blitzking is my back up bullet. Not as much an issue now but during the shortages during the past few years getting components could be an issue. I've gone on a couple prairie dog shoots during the shortage years where several hundred cartridges were needed for the duration of the shoot. Having back ip components was nice option to have in preparing for the trip to South Dakota.

I've had good luck with Berger bullets as well but they were in very short supply during the shortages and I have not gone back to work with them. I'm in "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" mode with the 204 Ruger at this time.

I plan on buying as many 500 count boxes as I can afford. At least 3000 total bullets. That should in theory last me u til my barrel is done.
