.22 AA kit for Glock - Group Purchase $205

Originally, I was "gun-ho" on the whole .22 conversion for my 1911 and the Glock which I had yet to get back then. But now, I would rather just get a dedicated .22 like a Ruger, rather than switching back and forth a slide. Same thinking change for the C.C.U. Wow, a carbine for my pistol! Well, then I would again have to go back and forth. But thanks for the tempting offer!

I bought an Advantage Arms conversion unit for my G23. It was a great deal at $250 from Glockmeister. This device allows you to practice very cheaply. I can tune up for a match with a brick of CCI Blazer 22 lr. I switch to a full power load before the practice session is over. It pays for itself!
The switchover is fast and convenient before I got one I worried about the hassle, there isn't any.
One thing you should know is that there is a list of ammo that AA prefers for its units. No Federal, no PMC, and no 35 gr hp. Mine is best with Win Powerpoints, Blazer, Rem Golden Bullet, it like Velocitor too. Almost any 40 gr HV will do.
At $205 you are getting a heck of a good deal. I have NO commercial interest in Advantage Arms.

I would not get one if my only gun was a glock or 1911 that I carried. Then I would get another gun in 22lr.

But some folks have too many glocks sitting around, and for this I considered getting one. But consider is all I have done so far.

Have you heard anyhting about the reliability of these conversions? I have been looking for a good double action .22 auto, and I think I may have found the solution, but I don't want it if reliability is crappy.

go over to GlockTalk Forums and search for "AACK" and "Advantage Arm" and just for comparison "Ciener".

I think you'll find the general consensus is the AACK is really reliable, if using HV ammunition. And if you get a troublesome unit, the customer service is superb, he will fix it so it works or give you a new one. One GlockTalk user, Sigguy or something, complained about how his initally worked perfectly, then stopped working well. Turns out the guys switched frames and the problems started (the famres were a "C" and non-"C" model)

Anyways, there is some senstivity to ammo and frames, but most are very happy and most hate the Ciener kits.

I'd buy the AACK for practice and plinking, but I wouldn't bet my life on any conversion kit, factory or not.
