i had purchased about 3 boxes of the super colibri from aim surplus almost a year ago for use in my back yard i had at the time, as not to disturb the neighbors, i used a box and a half or so (50 round boxes) at the time the only .22 i had was a mossber 702 semi auto. so i treated it kinda like a bolt action, and it worked great, never had any jam in the barrel or anything, though sometimes, for some reason, it wouldnt grab the casing to eject when i pulled the bolt back, and woult have to take out the mag until i got it, but that was i believe 3 times total.

anyway. when i moved to KY, i purchased some more at the gun store there (kygunco.com, i believe is there website) but then we got settled into a place inside the city limits and were shooting was not allowed, so i would head out to my cousins in the woods, at which point, regular ammo was fine, however, now back here in FL again, and i one again find them usefull, and i have used most of them yesterday in my remington 550-1.

im looking to buy more, but dont know anywere locally to just get a box of each and test it, so far i have only got the super colibri....

whats the difference? i noticed the colibri has a lower fps rating, is it even quiter? (i had assumed the super in the colibri was something to the effect of super quite, compared to quite, but looking at spanish, the only think i know is colobri, which is hummingbird, and that fits, giving the hummingbird on the back of the casing, at which my next assumption is colibri is just the name of the ammo and this is super, aka, faster and more accurate (though thats a joke after about 20-30 feet).

i mainly asked because, out of my rifle, its makes no more knows the a BB gun, but out of my dads old revolver, there like firecrackers, and still too loud for use in his yard, was thinking maybe the colibri would be quiter for the revolver.

Off the top of my head.....

Colibri is 375 fps and Super Colibri is 500 fps. The lower velocity stuff is definitely quieter though I'm not sure how much good that will do with a revolver. There really isn't any way to get around the noise from the cylinder gap. My best results are with a bolt action rifle.

I've tried both and prefer the Super. A little more speed and out of a rifle it's as quiet as my pellet gun.

The regular colibris are quieter than the super colibris, but may not have enough 'umph' to make it out of a rifle barrel. They are really intended to use in handguns. If you do use them in your rifle (and some do), make sure each and every round hits target.

I occasionally shoot it from rifles and a revolver. The noise is far less than my springair pellet rifle, only my old Red Ryder is as quiet, unless shooting it from a heavy-barreled rifle, then all I hear is the firing pin.
Good for tiny critters up close, but will not do a quick kill on a possum - I know....
I sometimes use it for a quick & dirty adjustment for sights and scopes indoors or in the backyard, rather than go all the way to the range. A cardboard box of rags makes an adequate backstop.
