.22 for general purpose

I see several threads that get re-born. I believe that is is because interests persist. I think it's great that the topic is still alive. :)
 
I believe the CZ452 American is the best bolt action rifle for the dollar when out of the box accuracy is sought. Looked at them more times than I care to admit, but I keep thinking it is not an improvement on my Remington 541-S. (they run around $600 in excellent condition "used".) I like a smooth bolt and the CZ does not have a smooth bolt (good accuracy, yes). I don't think the CZ 452 American is 22 rifle for a child; interested or experienced shooting teen person, yes.

CZ bolts smooth out nicely after a few hundred rounds. :)

If you want a smaller CZ, look at the 452 Scout.
