Is it safe or smart to shoot a 22lr through a 223 chamber adapter in a 223ai chambered contender barrel? My concern is blowing out the neck portion of the chamber adapter in the short area where it would be unsupported.
Most of the chamber adapters ive seen/used are steel and plenty strong enough to deal with the rounds they are chambered for san support. Is it safe or smart to shoot a 22lr through a 223 chamber adapter in a 223ai chambered contender barrel? I shoot 9mm out of my 20ga with a 11" insert, kinda a lot actually. Ive only ever fired 2 or 3 rounds of 20ga lol.Always thought about getting some of these from mca sports. especially since theyre so close, right in anchorage. I could probably take my rifle right to them and have them make a perfect match for my chamber. 30 carbine in 30-06 would be cool.
I want about a half dozen 32 long to 30-30 adapters. That would be a lot of fun. Would be slow to load the adapter, then load the adapters into the gun, fire, and knock 32s out of the adapters to start over.I actually shoot 9mm out of my 20ga with a 11" insert, kinda a lot actually. Ive considered getting an insert made to shoot 32s out of my 06s before.
That might be the route I go, but I was hoping to get one to work between a 223 rem AR and the 223AI contender. It just adds cost, so not a big deal but I was hoping to do 1 and be done.If you email MCA at [email protected] and ask how much it'd cost for him to make you an adapter for the AI chamber you have, he'd more than likely make it. Will probably cost you $40 for a custom job and take 2-3 months to get.
