is there such a thing as a .22 mag automatic handgun or is that not a plausible idea? i am assuming the reason this isnt a reality is because of the case length. but i cant help wishing for one.

I believe a company by the name of Excel Arms is putting one in production.
They had a writeup in a gun rag recently, the web site doesn't have info on the pistol. .22mag and .17HMR conversion kit for 1911 look very interesting. I just don't want to be the first to send them money.:)

I acquired an Automag II. Never was very reliable when I first got it.
Gave it a good cleaning, better but still not good. I found a new mag for it, only had 2 malfs in the last 200 rounds I put thru it. Both were the ejected round getting pinched long ways in the slide and barrel area.

Not terrribly accurate tho, but I haven't had a chance to shoot it from a rest yet either.

My dad has one of the Grendel 22mags. Its an interesting pistol. Seems like it's put together a little on the sloppy side but, its suprisingly reliable. And it came with a pair of 30round flush fitting mags :D

Basically a less reliable Kel-Tec P11 in .22 mag huh? :D

They seem to be going for around 6 bills these days. :what:

I think it would be pretty cool if Kel-Tec came out with one after the AWB expires. Even now they could offer it with neutered mags.

30 round flush fitting mag...MMMMM. :)

22 mag auto

Have carried an AMT automagII for several years now and have had no real problems. Mine is pretty accurate but I've had to do serious trigger work to get it that way. Unless you're really stuck on a semi-auto I would suggest a Smith 48. They are both discontinued, and priced about the same. 264fan
