OK, who shoots the Swift? I just got a 1992 Remington 700 Classic in this sweet caliber. Does anybody have one of these beautiful rifles? If so, what do you think?

Like the 220 Swift myself. The 40, 50, 55 grain Nosler B/T really give some impressive results both on the range and out in the field. Don't have a classic in 220 Swift but own a Ruger 77 Mark II HB Varmint and a Remington 40XB KS in 220 Swift.

Most accurate rifle I have ever personally fired.
And it absolutely devastates varmints.

my favorite .220 swift, Ruger #1 in .220 swift, deadly, just expensive to shoot.

Mine is a Savage varmint barrel. Shoots better than I can.
Our .220 is a "200th Year" Ruger 77 heavy-barrel varminter, built in that bi-centennial year of 1976.
It's now leaning hard on 4000 rounds, and still puts five V-Max 55s well under an inch at 100 yards.
The charge weight is 41 grains of H380, and I use the same bullet and powder in a CZ550 .22-250 Varminter with the charge reduced to 39 grains. Velocities are very similar in both rifles, and neither rifle has ever fired a factory-loaded cartridge.
I admire both cartridges, and while there's no clear "winner" between them, there's also no "loser".

i have two rifles chambered in 220swift, but mine have ackley chambers.
one is built on a columbian mauser action with a old fajen beavertail stock & a weaver k-6 with a litschert 12x targeteer booster. i was going for a 50's style target rifle with it.
the other is possibly the worlds only 220 swift mosin nagant. the barrel is from a remington 722 that was originaly chambered in .222, i rethreaded it & rechambered it.

Yess sireeee now ur talkin I love my .220 fast(swift).I down ld it cause I don't wanna burn anything out any faster than I have to.I run mine at 3850-3900 is what my chrono say's a 12 twist and it shot's 50 grn. V-Max and Sierra Bltz's like a house a fire I don't shot blitz's anymore refuse to pay dbl.for a bullet that won't out shot a V-Max in my rifle or my experiance.It has a 28 inch Pac.-Nor brl.And it definatly is capable of more accuracy than the nut behind the gun can deliver.That 50 grn'r is devastating on a P.dog at 200or450's Never got a 500yd shot yet but some day a 6or 700yd'r would be awesome and If I can hit him he'll be a fried dead dog.....Good hunting and shootin

better than i do with iron sights. at 100 yards off a bench i can keep it around 2".
eventually i'm going to put a weaver k-6 with a q/d sidemount on it.
