I really like the graphite w/ lead shot idea lineman65 mentioned though... gonna have to try that!

Mica is white and less messy.

Graphite is silver-black and will leave a stain on the concrete floor that will not come out.
It will leave your hands and fingers black and make your ammunition look dirty.
It also causes global warming and broken marriages.
Do yourself a favor and use Mica.

Now, if you do use graphite, get a container of LockEze Graphite Lubricant for lockwork.

DO NOT order a pound of graphite on Amazon.
It is enough for ten men’s lifetimes!
It is hard to pour, believe it or not.
It will make a giant stain on the loading room floor, under the new bamboo mat.

I use it in the lawn spreader just to get rid of it.
(Coincidentally, I have never gotten it to work so well with the cheap fertilizer I can get...;))

I detect a lesson learned hidden in this suggestion. ;)

Oh dear.... my pound if graphite is already in transit..... from amazon no less, lol. In my defense, I bought it to put through a new powder measure, not for this....

But I'll warn my wife about our marriage's (and the planet's) impending doom all the same, lol

Mica also goes a long way. A buddy tried to give me his 1 pint can for 20 years. I finally took it 10 years or so ago and have never opened it. The 3 tablespoons I have in my neck brush tray is still good after 45+ years.

Edit: I even found it. Ha!

Dang, I would have given you mine for postage...:(*

At least be sure its mined graphite and not steel refinery coke, like in pencils. One is for marking lines, one is for lubrication.
One is pure and not contaminated with steel salts, one is inexpensive, and way better than black chalk, which also sucks...

*Edit... The graphite, not the Ex. I wouldn’t wish her on anyone...:D
