Looking for some good, cheap ammo to shoot in my stevens rifle. Was thinking of 62 grain with a soft or hollow point.

Any recommendations?

Cheap? For factory - I guess Blackhills remanufactured in the 50rd pack is your best bet.

Stevens has a 24" 1/9, chances are that will stabilize up to the 75gr Hornady. :)

Aside from that, I'd say handloading is your best bet.

There is no more cheap. That ended a few years ago. Sorry :(

I just ordered 700 rounds. Federal 55 grain American Eagle & Remington UMC. I'm saving brass right now in anticipation of reloading. It might be my only choice if CA passes certian legislation.

Save your brass. Thanks to another thread I started I'll most likely be getting a Dillon 550.

62 gr soft point? I tried to buy it all but...

Ammunitionstore.com still has cases of zinc plated steel case Barnaul in 62gr SP, I paid $209 per case of 1000. Good quality ammo, don't let the anti-steel case Nazi's convince you otherwise.
