Yesterday I bought a box of Winchester ammo in 223. When I opened the box I noticed the headstamp was LC. I thought that was odd, so checked several and all were LC headstamp. Is this normal or is it unusual? Here's a few pics.

Is this normal? Doe's Winchester use LC brass or do they own LC brass?

Thanks guys!

Government contracts to build LC brass. The last contract I heard about is Federal making LC ammo. Somebody's reloads? Where did you buy it? Or who knows maybe Winchester has the contract now.....but I never heard of Federal ever selling LC ammo in their boxes.......

"Somebody's reloads? Where did you buy it?"

Picked this box of ammo up at Cabela's in Charleston, WV, yesterday. It's a new box (not someone's reloads) of Winchester 223 target ammo.

Olin (Winchester) assumed the production at Lake City in 2020. When Federal was running it prior to Olin, it wasn't unusual to have L.C. brass in with Federal Eagle label.

And, that is not the "military" LC format. LC military brass would have LC, the NATO symbol and the last two digits of the year of manufacture (and some dots indicating the production line). So, even though your brass is LC, I don't think it was ever designated or used for mil. contracts (hence not somebody's reloaded LC). Interesting though.
