Considering how sorry the Win .223 brass is these days I would go for LC. The last 500 or so I've gotten has lasted only 2 or 3 reloads before the primers started falling out. These are the standard high power loads with N140 and N150 with 77s and 80s. Other high power shooters in out parts have experienced the same. I've got an in for some once fired WCC crimped in primer brass that I'm going to tap before I bother buying any more standard factory brass. FWIW

i'm looking for a cost-effective, accurate blasting load compromise to shoot from 1/7 twist ARs in 3gun stages >100 yrds. I'd like 1.5 MOA or so. need to be able to hit 8-10" plates between 300-500 yrds consistently. but i can't afford to shoot my high-power ammo in these matches and practicing.

my plan involves the 69g OTM deal at wideners and some overrun "match" powder, and standard primers. i also still have 2000 pc of their old 77g OTM.

last time i bought brass like this, i bought 10,000 pc of once-fired same headstamp at a time very cheap. maybe i'm not looking in the right places anymore.

the way i figure it,
i'm looking at $374/1000 the first time i load it, as compared to a case of the prvi 69g match ammo at $470/1000, so i'll save right at $100/1000. but my price drops to $184/1000 when i reload that brass. i'm thinking it's worth doing.

you can buy brass on snipershide or ar15.com for around 60-80 bucks shipped/1k most times.

You'll have a little more prep time for the crimped brass but it is much more robust than the commercial stuff, and with the internet there are some good deals to be had. I hit a good auction on GB and got 3K for $125 about 4 months ago.

I was getting 2k WCC for $75 shipped early this year. From military training use. Haven't noticed any problems with them possibly being from MG chambers.

Bought my last batch a couple of years ago intending to use it for 600 yard HP loads. Some of the PPs were so loose, you couldn't feel any resistance when seating. I stuck with LC for all positions.

Winchester over LC, unless you personally fired the LC ammo to get the empty brass. I would never buy once fired Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) brass not knowing its history. The LC scrap brass sold may have been proof loads and/or had been in there chemical bath before test firing it,making it weak/aged. LC is made to be fired 1 time, and have a good storage life.
