I was looking for something else, and stumbled upon something interesting here:

According to a gentleman who identifies himself as "Eduardo J. Belgrano, President & CEO CENTURION ORDNANCE, INC.":
"... We will soon be launching new cartridges, such as the .223 Rimfire (no misprint here)."
This guy claims to be the designer of the Colibri powderless ammo now being sold by Aguila.
Given the context of his comment, I'm happy to take his words at face value. So what could you do with a .223 rimfire? Maybe it's an attempt to offer .223 NATO performance for customers in countries like Mexico that ban military calibers? Or maybe it's something like the new .17 rimfires, but using a more common projectile?
