I have finally come up with components to reload .223. Due to shortages with everything I have found flavors that I might not have chosen but they were all I could find. I have collected: CCI #450 Magnum Small Rifle Primers, Nosler 60 gr. Ballistic Tips and H 4198 powder. Can anyone help with a recipe to start with for a 20" 1 in 9 twist Bushy? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Ideas?
What does your reloading manual say?
Oh, you don't have one I bet!

Anyway, Hodgdon says:
18.0 starting load.
20.0 MAX load.
with a 60 grain Hornady V-Max.

Your Nosler bullet is very similiar, and your Mag primers are also similiar to the Winchester WSR Hodgdon used.

However, H-4198 is not a great powder choice for a 60 grain load.

Thanks Guys!

Yes I do have a manual but has no listings for the combo of components I have...As always I'll start light and work up. Thanks for the assist!

LOL

Hows this for an expensive plinking load. My buddy sold me a bunch of components. In it I ended up with 3000 LR bench rest primers, 400 pieces of brand new Remington unprimed and primed brass, 650 Nosler 168grain HPBT bullets, and 8 pounds of IMR 4350 all for 308. I got all that stuff for quite a bit less than what i would have paid for generic bulk components but I feel guilty loading up bench rest quality ammo for plinking with my Saiga 308.

:)
