I reload .30-30 on my Lee classic turret press without any issues, but was wondering if I'll be able to load .223 rem as well.

I'm conspiring to do an AR build and part of the equation is that I have to reload .223 to afford to shoot the rifle.

The only thing that's really different is you will need to be sure you set the shoulder to the correct location. The shoulder of the cartridge determines the headspace on the .223.

With the 30-30, this hasn't been a issue for you, as the 30-30 headspaces on the rim, and not the shoulder.

I recomend the RCBS Precision Mic tool for making sure you get your shoulder dimension correct on all non-rimmed bottleneck cartridges.

You will be able to load 223 easy on the classic turret. I load 223 with the Lee Pacesetter dies and am very happy with the results.

.223 loads on just about anything.

24-26 grains of Varget behind a Sierra 69 Matchking and you are good to go.
