I asked around about reloading this cartridge some time ago with no help. not that anyone was unfriendly but I think no one has heard of it. a little back ground : this is a freedom arms single action revolver with absolutely no production ammo available. so freedom arms partnered with rcbs to sell the pistol and a die set together. basically this round is a federal 327 she'll necked down to a 224 bullet with roughly a 32th of an inch trimmed off. sounds simple right? this rounds have to be fire formed 3 times before you can actually start loading hotter loads. right about now a practical mind is asking why would you buy a firearm that you have to reload 3 times before you can really start shooting with it? well it wasn't me I just ( stupidly) volunteered to try and load then teach how to. I won't lie I am an average reloader at best but for some reason I wanted to test my skills. the first few times I failed horribly then using the KISS method of reasoning and a little help from RCBS support line discovered I had the wrong expander ball in the die set. now I will say RCBS was very helpful and didn't charge me a thing but they did send me the wrong size 3 times. so lesson learn check you 223 expander from rcbs before you start. pretty uneventful after that gun shot great didn't put it on paper or chrono but it did put a hurting on some old milk jugs and felt good to.i have no doubt that once the fire forming is done you can make some real power packed accurate rounds. so if you just absolutely love reloading and shooting long distance paper with a pistol I know we're you can pick up one of these pretty cheap

It sounds interesting, Jack. You're right, I've never heard of it, but I'm a sucker for off the wall rounds (.45-120, 9x21, 9x23, 9x25 Dillon, .400 Cor-Bon, et. al.)

I'd like to hear more about it, and maybe the price.....
