I've googled it, and site searched it here, but had no real luck. Hoping some of you can lend a hand.

Does anyone have load data for the 225 Winchester using Varget?

I've got fantastic amounts of data for H-380, BL(C)-2, IMR-4064, IMR-4320, IMR-4895, H-4350, on and on...

Varget is darn near the same burn rate as 4064, but I just don't play without some sort of data since "close" can cost a hand. 4064 is a fantastic powder in this cartridge I guess but I've simply been unable to find it locally of late. I have tons of Varget and generally like it better anyhow.

Max loads would be just fine - working on developing loads for a 225 AI (225 Bellm) in kahootz with Mike. Basically the same thing as a 225 JDJ but chambered for the full Encore rifle rather than the JDJ's intention (and pressure) towards a G2/Contender.

If I have to, I'll start low (like 32 grains) and work up with varget the old fashioned explorer way. Appreciate any help (and powder saved) you all may be able to provide though!

Incidentally, I'm only halfway through my 200 fireforming loads (34.0/H380) and all things considered, I expect big things. Cutting 10-shot .7" holes - one big one really - and that's with new unfired winchester brass that only had the expander ball run through it and an annealing done. And Midsouth "cheapie" varmint extreme 55's.

Hope you guys can help me find varget info, this thing started as a 222 Rem in a Bergara "full profile" (read: HEAVY) and was rechambered for the 225AI. I tested it prior to rechamber and it was one-hole all over the place. I've been assured that the rechamber/throat/crown will only make things better. Kind of one of those projects I got sucked into by my geeky side, on the promise of a bunch of free stuff in return. I do like free shooting stuff, even when it costs me an arm to get a free leg... hehe.

I'll keep you posted in this (or a new 225AI) thread. Hope to win some folks over and not be one of literally 3-4-5 people shooting one :)

You ARE the man. Not sure why my searches didn't help find those links, but God bless you!

varget and the 225

depoloni have been shooting 4064 for close to three years in a 20-225CG with 29.0grs. deadly out to 400yds on coyotes
