.22LR Accuracy from a Ciener kit in my AR?

I have a AR with a DMPS lower, DPMS LPK, and a RRA Car A4 upper. I am thinking about a Ciener .22LR conversion kit. I hear people saying that a dedicated .22LR upper with the proper twist rate is better. I have a 1:9" twist rate in my RAA upper. I was just wondering about accuracy of .22LR out of my 16" RAA upper? I am mainly looking for a plinking gun and to spend more trigger time in my AR with current sights/trigger. For more precise uses I will either use .223 or my marlin model 60. I can't ever see my self shooting past 100yrds with the ciener kit. Mostly less than 50.

it will be fine. you're probably not going to get one-hole groups at 50. but the suboptimal twist and bore diameter won't cause you to miss an coke can.

I'm running a Ciener kit in my LMT with a 1:7 twist bbl. It certainly isn't match accurate, but that's not why I bought it. I bought it for cheap trigger time at the local 25 yard indoor range, because it allows me much more practice since the indoor range is much closer to home & work than the nearest outdoor ones. In that setting it holds the 10 ring of a B25 silhouette at the 25 yard line using 36 grain Winchester bulk pack ammo. The 27 round Black Dog Machine mags are a great addition to the Ciener kit.

the accuracy will be fair, i personally would get a dedicated upper. (i'm biased, never had a ceiner conversion) my AR, being a GP, couldn't use one anyhow

My del-ton rifle is 1 in 9 twist. With my ciener conversion and the right ammo I get about an inch at 25 yards, about 3" at 50, forget about 100 yards. It isn't real accurate but it's perfect for knocking cans around. Mark
