i finally decided to get a .22lr kit for my ar15 because i love to shoot it but hate to pay the .223 price, besides bulk .223 is hard to find for a good price and if you can even find them now days. i decided to go with spike's tactical .22lr kit along with 5 mags from black dog machine, great service btw. ordered on friday and arrived on monday which is today. i also bought a s&w 22a .22lr pistol and decided to take both for a test. speak of ammo, i went to like 7 different stores and only one had bulk .22lr.
i loaded five 27 round magazines with winchester 40gr cp hp. the frist four magazines shot through flawless, fast and slow. it was so fun by the fifth magazine somewhere there was failure to extract. fired another two mags and very little issues. i notice the bolt was very dry and not fully seating the round so i stopped. i should've lubed it before i came but it was rather the ammo not the kit. i was very pleased with the kit. the kit came with two springs, a polished one and a dull one. the dull one seems to be stiffer so i think i'm gonna give that one a try to prevent future issues like not seating the round all the way.

the 22a on the other hand had no issues at all, took all sorts of ammo i fed it like mini mags, stinger, remy golden bullet, remy copper coat. it was pretty loud for a .22lr pistol.

last thing, the kit came with a gas tube plug. where do you put this plug? my best guess was it goes on the top of the bolt where that tapered pin goes? (right behind the recoil spring)

outside the ruger, the smith is a surprising accurate and reliable pistol, at a nice price, you can deff make them target shooter ready as well. Also i really like the beretta neos; seriously deep pistol grip angle!!! but accurate as all get out.
