22LR Revolver whats out there?

If you have to buy new, go to Ruger or Taurus. Not great guns but at least they are not crazy expensive.

If you are willing to do a little searching, buy a K22 from the 50's or earlier. Second best is the same gun, renamed the Model 17. the later guns are typically not as nicely fitted but some are.

An old S&W is far better and cheaper than anything that is made these days. New revolvers are constructed of castings and MIM, the metal version of particle board. There does not seem to be a corner that they won't cut.

Remember that a K frame is better in all respects to a J Frame, with the exception of concealment.
 
I'd try used. Each of these was less than $500. The wood grips that came on the Colt were worth $150 (That's why the Pac's are on it now).
