TentWing hit upon my sole reason for having a .22mag.
In Georgia, on WMA’s we’re not allowed to use or posses a center fire during small game hunts.
The solution to this is the .22mag. It will easily dispatch a pig with proper shot placement.
My .22mag rifle is a Marlin 783 Stainless with synthetic stock. It wears a 3-9x scope and with select ammo, MOA. The Winchester, Remington (CCI loaded with Speer 40gr JSP) and even PMC-Armscor JACKETED ammo is at or near MOA. The CCI plated is 2-3moa.
For pig hunting I prefer the Winchester FMJ, but in its absence, I’ve used CCI solids.
