So anyhow the 22 mag is all new to me. whats the drop like? I've seen videos on youtube of 22 wmr smacking coyotes @ 100 yds. I got 25 to 50 yads I can sight in at. If I sight in dead on 25 where should I be at 50 and 100? When I get the time I guess I will find out for myself, but it would be nice to have some info to start with. Any suggestions would be great. I'm thinking Hornady v-max for coyotes. Any ammo suggestions for fox and coyotes? Does 22mag pack enough punch to go for vitals or is it a head shot only caliber. Never shot a fox or coyote so...its all new to me.

Sight it in with the 30 grain V-Max load 3/4" high at 50 yards and it will be zero or very close at 100 yards.
Then about 16.5" low at 200.

The cartridge is capable of cleanly killing coyotes with chest shots out to perhaps 150-175 yards.

So would I be right by thinking at 150-175 yds I would aim right at the top of a coyotes back to put it in the vitals?

wow thanks, the 22 mag is a pretty handy caliber. I am impressed, I shot it and its not much louder than 22lr out of a 20 some length barrel. I kinda just dismissed it in the past, fun finding new stuff out.

On a seperate note I have heard it is pretty loud outta a pistol though. Some one told me reaching toward 357ish noise.

I would have to doubt that. Ive never fired a .22 mag stubby, but the Single Six that i used to borrow wasnt too much louder the the normal .22. No where NEAR as nasty as a .357
