really average tree is 100 ft thats some pretty tall trees, average tree in my area and anywhere I have hunted is about 30 feet! a power pole is only about 25 ft, your trees are 4 times taller than a power pole ???? really??? i guess its possible but you must have some unusually tall trees in your area!

I've shot squirrels out of the tallest ponderosa pines in the forest, and they get right up there in the top. 110 ft is what, ~33 yards? I'd say I've shot squirrels out of trees that were easily that tall. Not the norm per se, but not unheard of either. You have to get a pretty long angle on them too when they do that. 22lr is still all you need though.

My trees are only 40' max., but I shoot a Daisy 10-pump pellet/BB rifle. I got my 69th squirrel last week (15 months worth). I keep count, because I'm shooting them to save my pears.
Last year, I didn't eat "ANY" pears. This year I had enough to give several neighbors all they could eat.

Cottonwoods here have no trouble reaching 100'. And I have used 22wmr for plenty of squirrels. I stick to head shots.

How'd this turn from a gun question, to a matter of who's got the bigger tree, I'm done with this, my friend is to thick skulled for me to teach him about hunting.
