Snuck out early this AM to try out the freshly assembled 7.62x39 AR pistol upper I put together on Monday of last week (I know, I had to wait almost a full week ). I decided to take the chronograph along just to satisfy my curiosity, assuming all else went well. I had zero issues feeding/extracting and excellent accuracy (I only tested @ 50yds). The part that really surprised me was the numbers I was getting on the chronograph. Running Wolf 122gr steel-cased ammo I was getting anywhere from 2300-2350 FPS! I didn't see any velocity claim on the box, but that has to be 95%+ of what they claim, which I am assuming is tested in a longer barrel than 10.5". Next, I ran the Hornady black x39 ammo, I believe it was rated at 2350 fps. I only had 10 rounds and they all went across the chronograph with speeds anywhere from 2100-2150. Still what I consider excellent velocity from a short barrel. I might have just found my new favorite AR pistol upper.

Oh, and HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
