Scrat - one of Berdan's Sharp Shooters lost some digits firing a Colt Root 1855Repeater. He forgot to keep his hands behind the cylinder. Colt should never have added that forearm to encourage such unsafe practice.

ouch. the gun really does look unsafe. even new im not too sure it would be the gun to fire.

Mcgreg, the VonPecker had a selector, you could fire one or the other ring of chambers, or both at once. I have no idea whether one was ever built, but imagine the fun you could have if the metallurgy of the cylinder was a little questionable.
