Listed below are three loads I shot today and I want to share the data as someone may be interested and perhaps it will save time while developing a good varmit load for your .243

The rifle used for this data is a Remington 700 with a 24" barrel. The conditions were clear and sunny with the temperature around 70 degrees and calm winds no more than 2-4 mph. All three round groups could be covered with a dime.

1. Winchester Case
CCI 200 Primer
40 grains IMR 4895 - This load is 4 grains below max as shown in the
70 Grain Nosler BT Lyman Reloading Handbook 44th Ed dated 1967
OAL: 2.625
Velocity 3350 fps
Range 100 yards - 3 rounds fired

2. Winchester Case
Fed 210M Primer
46 grains W760 - This load is 1.5 grains below max as shown in the
70 Grain Nosler BT Hornady Reloading Manual Vol II dated 1973
OAL: 2.625
Velocity 3400 fps
Range 100 yards - 3 rounds fired

3. Winchester Case
Fed 210M Primer
40 grains H4895 - This load is 2.5 grains below max as shown in the
70 Grain Nosler BT Hornady Reloading Manual Vol II dated 1973
OAL: 2.625
Velocity 3350 fps
Range 100 yards - 3 rounds fired

The tightest group was produced by Load # 3

As with any load data ALWAYS start out 2 to 3 grains below the maximum indicated and work up the loads gradually.
