Well, i've had a chance to shoot a lot of the handloads i made for my Winchester model 70 featherweight .280 rem today.

Winchester 150 grain Power points (el cheapo's) loaded on top of max load IMR7828, Remington LR primer. 1.25" group at 100 yds, REALLY loud... like made the guys shooting magnums at the other end of the shooting row jump every shot....

Nosler BT, 140 grain, on top of max load Reloader 19 as written by Nosler reloading manual. Very accurate, about .75" group at 100 yds, Shoots same POI as two 140 grain factory loads... (hornady 139gr SST and Remington 140 grain core-lokts).

I loaded three rounds of each of the top two loadings, starting at min loads, and working up to max loads... and accuracy seemed to be about the same except they tightened down with max load on the 140 BT's... i did NOT chrony these, i forgot my chrony at home. I will find out and post that info as well. All in all, my Featherweight is shooting real good with both expensive bullets and cheap ones... i'l likely use the SST's and Nosler BT's for Deer, and use the winny Power points, for Hogs.

It's good to hear about a M70 Feather Weight shooting that tight. I had a new one in .270 and couldn't get decent groups out of it, ended up selling it.
