Anyone who has tried to find new Winchester 25-06 brass will appreciate this note. There are 10 50 round bags of new Winchester 25-06 brass for sale on GunBroker listed by Wholesale Hunter in Wetumpka, Alabama. If my memory is correct the price per bag was $31.95. They were very good to deal with.

Many years ago I re-sized many rounds Lake City 30-06 brass to 25-06. I would first run it through a 270 Winchester full lengh sizing die and then through a 25-06 full length sizing die. It then had to be trimmed to a length of 2.484 before loading. If you are using brass that has been fired several times it would be a good idea to anneal the brass before sizing. If you are trying to be really professional the thickness of the necks could be turned to make sure they are not too thick. Did I confuse you enough?

Just finished resizing 100 pieces each of FC and Hornady 30.06 to 25.06. I did just about the same except I ran mine through a 25.06 neck sizer die first and then through the 25.06 FL die. I then trimmed them and so far they are working great in my 25.06. I sold my 30.06 so I don't have to worry anymore about mixing up the brass. I've also did this with .270 but find I have to do a lot more trimming with it than the 30.06. So far I've shot a few of these cases 5 times and have only neck sized after the first firing. These will be retired after the next firing.

@sage - I'm familiar with the process having done it before, but not the 30-06 to 25-06 conversion. I was hoping that someone as experienced as yourself would respond and school me on the finer points... which you did!

Thank you very much..... Doc

@parker51 - I was responding to sage when you posted. Are you saying that neck sizing the 30-06 case with a 25-06 neck sizer would eliminate the .270 full length resizing step?

If so could the 25-06 Lee Collet Die I have work in place of the 25-06 neck sizer die?

Best value ever : PPU makes .25-06 loaded ammo with 110gr HPBTs in em. $15/20 most retail spots, and that brass lasts FOREVA ! Very consistent stuff.
