Gentleman, I also need some help! I'm having problems with RCBS Resizing Die, eating my brass. I don't have a problem with this, if it hasn't been fed lately. Since this is new Brass and it seems to smash the 5 I have fed, it ought to be full. I have chamfered inside the case mouth, and debured the outside also, but it still seems to be hungry! Does anyone have a solution that I'm overlookin? I'm by no means, a Rich Man. I can't afford this. I 'm not really familiar with the RCBS dies. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a picture of the problem or explain exactly what it does to the brass?

Hard to diagnose if we don't know what the issue is.

Have taken to using Lee resizing dies for lever rounds loaded, 25-20, 32-20, 30-30, 375, 444 and 45-70. The Redding and RCBS dies purchased were seriously oversizing the case, especially the 375 win. It was a pain adjusting the Redding/RCBS dies, for sizing needed.

Gentleman, I thank you for answering my Post. Sorry, I have no way to post pics. I should have explained a little further. I'm loading on a Dillon RL 550 B. I have run 6 cases thru the machine, and it has crushed the neck down all the way to the large part of the Case. I thought I had fixed the problem, but I guess not. I have only fooled with Dillon and Lee Dies and I am totally unfamiliar with the RCBS Dies. Reading the Pamplet with the dies, they say if die is not centered up to start over and readjust the die. If had forseen this problem, I would have ordered Lee Dies. I just thought I would try something different. The expander for the neck is not going in the mouth of the case for some reason. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've had the expander and the de-priming pin out of the die. I couldn't find a burr or anything I thought would cause this problem. The Cases have been chamfered and the neck has been de-burred.

1-try without expander in die, just to see if ya can size brass without crushing.
2-measure expander plug to see if oversize.
3-set die using new case and loose depriming pin. Wait untill expander is in neck under tension, before tightening lock ring.
4-try single press, the 25-20 thin neck may not coincide with progressive.

I forgot to mention, I have a Lee, Single stage press, I use only for de-primeing. When I disassembled the die, I noticed when I stuck the expander into the neck of the new case, it sure was a tight fit. These cases have never been sized! I exspected it to be tight, maybe not that tight.

I doubt it has anything to do with the RCBS die.

All the WCF series of cases, to include the .218 Bee, 25-20, 32-20, 38-40, and 44-40 have very thin and fragle necks.

If your progressive is not indexing precisely you will get neck damage when the case slightly misses going in the die centered perfectly.

They are easy enough to damage when hand guiding them into a single-stage press die.
You only get to miss once and the case is toast.

If they are new cases they have been sized. I just tried with some new brass not 25/20 but some others I couldn't get the expander in by hand with moderate pressure.

I'm having trouble visualizing your problem, but just a couple ideas:

Make sure you are using the right shellplate, one meant for a larger round could cause misalignment.
Make sure you're using a good case lube (maybe consider inside the neck as well as outside).
Measure the neck sizing button to make sure it isn't out of spec or for the wrong caliber.
Try a carbide neck sizing button if available.
Make sure the little spring thing (technical term for the bent-paperclip-looking wire that helps hold the case in the resize die position) is correctly adjusted. Sometimes it will get underneath a case and tilt them causing necks to get smashed.

Remove the expander assembly and don't use it. Use a Sinclair or K&M expander die instead.

Guys, many thanks to all of you. By much trial and error, I've finally gotten it centered up. I have been reloading for several years, I have been truly humbled by this problem. I thank all of you for the many suggestions. It's good to know that a man can call on many, many years of experince when he needs it. I have been on many reloading forums. I truly have to say, this is by any stroke of imagination, the best. Thanks again for the unselfish help!
