250 gr. 45ACP

I am sitting with 1500 pieces of lead bullets .451 250 gr. I need a good load for my 45acp 1911's. I would use it for plinking. I'm setting up a steel gong in my back yard.

5.0 Grs of W-231. Start at 4.7 and work up.

I have loaded 255gr SWC in 45 acp cases with both AA#2 and Power Pistol. I, unfortunately, would not feel comfortable sharing either of these in open forum. I couldnt be sure they would be safe. They did, however, feed just fine in two 1911s, and a Glock 21.

I will also add that I feel AA#2 is entirely too fast of a powder for that heavy of a bullet in 45acp. I would never load that combo again, unless it was a matter of necessity.
