I know a 25-06 cartridge generally uses a .257 diameter bullet.
I happen to have some 117 gr round nose jacketed flat base bullets that are .256 5.
These look to be good deer hunting bullets. Which is what I probably want to use them for at well under 200 yds.
What can I expect using these slightly more narrow bullets?
Are they wide enough to make little difference in accuracy?
I have sized 30-06 brass down to 25-06. Thinking that the necks would be slightly thicker brass than a 25-06 case. If that thinking is correct, they should seat just fine as far as neck tension goes.
It's the bullet traveling down the barrel that I am wondering about. My guess is that it's no big deal but have to ask before I load.

All you can do is give it a try. Id expect them to be fine accuracy wise, but gotta test it to actually know.

Sounds like Hornady bullets. They often make bullets .0005 under nominal size. Their bullets shoot well in everything I have tried them in, so I don't see a reason not to give them a try. As the old saying goes...let er rip tater chip.

They look like good deer bullets to me.
I'm gonna load em up. As usual, I'll give a report when I choot em.

Those are actually 117gr Remington Corlokts.
Very, Very good bullets.
I suggest you load them over 43.0gr of IMR4320. Not your typical.25/06 load but my best friend uses this load and gets 2,900fps and 3-sot cloverleafs.
I'm envious, I love those no longer available bullets. All my .25's adore those!

Thanks for the ID and suggestion GooseGestapo
Too late ... I loaded all 50 cases with these 117 gr Remington Corelokt with 49.0 gr IMR 4350 and am excited to see how they group at 100 yds. Expecting a decent result.
I am pretty confident they should knock down a deer from my Ruger #1.
I won't be able to shoot until next week maybe, but will show a target result.
If they do well, I'll reload the 10 or so that I shoot and sit these on the shelf for hunting purposes. I have about that many bullets leftover.
