257 Weatherby Rifle Cartridge...what do you use?

I built my Winchester model 70 in Weatherby 257 Hart Barrel,and retained the boss action...New McMillian Stock topped off with a 6X24X50 Swarovski.25 years ago, and its still taking long range deer...20-450 yds....

I had a Ruger No. 1B in 257 WM and a Remington 700 in 257 WM. I loved the No. 1 and wish I had kept it. I’ll eventually build a 257WM on a bolt action of some sort.

I use handloaded 100gn Swift Sciroccos over H-1000 powder. Screaming fast and outstanding accuracy with bang-flop results.

Weatherby Vanguard MkII. Tried 110gr Accubond but couldn't get them to shoot. 117gr Sierra Gamekings shoots great, so that's what I settled on. Many don't realize how potent the "little" 25 caliber bullet is moving at this speed.

I've recently become a lover of the Barnes TTSX so will definitely be trying the 100gr TTSX!

@High Plains I want to try the Scirocco in a few calibers I own but can't find any.

Love the round. Had a Vanguard that I hunted with for years. Laser beam comes to mind. Rifle was stolen years ago. I still have dies and brass. Loaded 100gr bullets for everything. Today I have a Ruger No1 V in 25-06 so I am still engaged to the quarterbore, but the 25-06 does it for me now.

Swift must be several months behind on ammo and bullet production. Most of their bullets and ammo show Out Of Stock and I’m waiting for 7mm Sciroccos to come back. Performance-wise they probably beat the Hornady ELD-X and Nosler Accubond Long Range BUT all three of them in handloads print the same size and location of shot groups from my 7mm Weatherby. Can’t lose with those results.
