I bought the German made 26.5mm flare gun. I like it quite a bit and have shot a few flares out of it. I also have the blue smoke rounds which are quite a bit longer. Before I go get myself in trouble I was wondering if these larger rounds were alright in the German model. It seems a bit skimpy in construction compared to the Polish flare gun. I'm also wondering just how far the smoke flies and how long it burns. I don't want to overshoot the target and get myself in trouble.

Tips and thoughts appreciated.

If by the German model, you mean the Heckler and Koch flare gun, then I am pretty sure they are ok. The polish gun, IIRC, is uglier, but made completely of metal and seems pretty tough, right? The HK has a metal firing tube, but polymer grip.

I bought a blue smoke round at a table that was selling all 26.5mm flares at a gun show, along with the german flare guns. I am almost positibe they would work, but have not fired my smoke round yet. I have fired a few of the red flares flawlessly however. neet little guns in my opinion. haha.

I have often wondered if a concealed flare pistol is considered a concealed firearm under Illinois law. I bet a flare in the gut would put a stop to most perps!
