I have been told that .308 brass can be resized and used for the .260 but according to my book (hornady 9th edition) the .308 brass is considerably shorter than the .260. Now that being said my once fired .260 brass is still shorter than the books case trim length. So how does this work when trimming brass? Or do you just not need to trim it and what will the side effects of the shorter brass be?

When I ordered from Starline a few 260s were 2.024-5. I didn't notice any effects but I'm not trying for quarter MOA either. I've reformed 243 into 260 but never 308. I've always seen that as more of a last resort involving neck turning.

I made a hundred 260 brass from S&B 308.
Be careful I had to turn the necks to get them to chamber.
I did get better accuracy with the tight necked brass.
