.270 cal 130gr SST Load data

Does anyone have the start and max load for the 130gr Hornady SST using IMR 4350? 270 Winchester

I'd go with Hodgdon's 130 SP data.

Good bullet that SST. I use the 130 gr over 52.2 gr of Ramshot Hunter for my 270.

Hornady #9 gives a start load of 47.1 grs IMR 4350 to a max of 54.6 grs for the 130 gr SST.

Thanks Jim. I loaded from 54-56 at .5 gr increments and 55.5 and 56 were accurate, the rest werent. I will try backing down some more. I dont want the hottest load. There was slight flattening of the primers at 56.

Different powder I know, but my rifle did not like them hot. Anything over 53.5 gr yielded a softball sized group with that Ram Hunter. You will have different results with your combination but mine for sure liked them slower.

It still leaves a fist sized exit on South Alabama whitetail and prompted me to start saving my money for a 243. It's better suited for larger deer or larger game.
