A lady friend just gave me a box of 270 reloads and a good bit of brass. She has a BAR that jambs with reloads. They hang in her chamber also. What gives? Offered to load her some and double check each step(as usual) but she refused. Only thing I can figure is the loader did not full length size the rounds. Will mic them shortly to see if that is the problem.

Very likely the shoulder did not get put back where it came from when the guy FL sized them.

It is a common reloading mistake when adjusting a sizing die, and is especially noticeable in an auto-loader or pump that doesn't have a long bolt handle to put them in kicking and screaming.

Best test for auto-loader ammo is an L.E. Wilson case guage when setting the sizing die.

I've worked with the Browning BAR in 338 Winchester Magnum and 30-6. The guns are very ammunition sensitive. Hand loading for them can be challenging, but also rewarding when you get it right. RC hit it right when he mentioned the shoulder.
