Well, you guys were correct. Revolvers "can" be addictive. I ran into this nice little 29-2 today and it followed me home. It has a bit more recoil than its 6.5" cousin, but it shot well with my first .44 Mag reloads.

Based on the serial number I figure this is a 1976 29-2 4" .44 Mag.

They like being next to each other.

My first 29 was a 4'' model, to bad I, had to pay some bill's that came up, or I, would still have it to go with my 6'' 29. Congratulation's.

In my very humble opinion the model 29 is the best looking Smith N-frame overall. Yours have served to cement my thoughts on the matter.

Nice!

Here are a few better shots of the pistol. It deserves better pictures than those snapshots above.

A couple weeks ago, I bought a S&W 442 and a Model 36 no-dash in the same day...at two separate shops!

Not revolver related, but I'm currently waiting on a CZ-82, a Romanian Tokarev, and a Hungarian AND-65. (Just because the prices ain't gonna go down, so I figured it was time to get off my butt and get them because i was gonna get them anyway.)

BTW, congrats on 2 beautiful guns!

Nice looking pistols. I really don't care for the gold Cabelas logo on the gun. It may be ok on the bottom of my hunting boots but not on the side of a fine S&W.

I don't think anybody's gonna give you a hard time for giving that little beauty a new home! There's just something about a nice 4" N-frame.

That's a nice comparison picture of a modern 29 and a P&R 29. They both look great, but I'm just incredibly partial to 4" N-frames.

Nice pickup.. I'm trying to stay away from my local shops because of this very reason.. I know something will come home in a .44 cal.

There's just something about a 4" N frame that looks like it's perfedtly proportioned for that gun. I had a 4" Model 57 years ago that was one of the nicest looking N frame that I have ever seen.

Until you've witnessed (you don't have to fill them out yourself) multiple ATF "more than one handgun" forms you're just a wannabe.

...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hawk, you missed the point that I really didn't explain very well. Up until two week's ago I'd never owned a revolver in my life. (I'm considerably north of 40) Now, within two weeks I've two .44 Magnums in my arsenal. That is all, wasn't trying to say I was on a heavy purchase binge or anything.

Some of us are more selective than that. Only a "wannabe" makes a statement like that.

Some of us are more selective than that

I concur

My preference for older revolvers and penchant for a "deal" make it nearly impossible to find more than one gun at one place.

I would consider it a honeyhole if I could fill out a "more than one" form

I've bought three in the last week or two and that's really the exception for me but it just worked out that way. They still didn't all make it on the same form.

Nice gun and pics, congrats. You don't know what an addiction is until your LGS orders pre-printed forms with your name.

A USFA/Turnbull .44Splx4¾" with engraved cylinder, minty 1958 Ruger flat-top .357x4⅝"
and a Rock Island 1911. Haven't had a chance to do any pics yet, weather hasn't cooperated.
