3 dot sights, can line up dots or notch and blade but not both

Just replaced my front sight fiber optic pipe. Previously it was bulbous on the end which partially obscured the top of the sight. As per the makers instructions the fiber optic belongs inside of the sight not on the outside. Yes its smaller but seems better and I have a cleaner sight picture.

That does look much neater.

A common mistake is to try to make the end larger, with the belief that the larger blob is easier to see. It is and it isn't. It is larger, but it is the brightness and the light being transmitted through the tube that draws your eye.

Plus, as already stated, it isn't meant as a primary aiming point
 
I really dig this setup. Looking forward to getting back into shooting after 4 or 5 months off. Might have to grab a 22 pistol to practice with. 9mm is still non existent by me but I have plenty of 22 to shoot.

Real challenge will be running the Shield in IDPA instead of the Compact.
