Anyone know anything about the next three smith and wesson 1911s coming out soon? I'd love to see a true Gov't model, a Scanadium Officer's model or Sc 9mm Commander. What's next?

Nope,
But I sure would like to see a 6" barrel, long slide, adjustable sight, 10mm in the offering pool.

Sc commander that could be bored out to a 9x23 would make me happy - if they made it with an internal extractor and series 70 firing system :)

They probably won't due that because of the extra cost/work involved.

Still, I would like to see the grip area reduced in circumference to allow people with smaller hands to get a better grip on the gun. For instance, my wife really likes the size and shape of the grip area on my Kahr E9, but she doesn't care for the trigger. She does like the trigger on my Kimber, but not the grip size.

If S&W or anyone else were to produce a 9mm 1911 with a reduced size grip, I think they would sell quite well. I think Springfield has a micro-1911 out in 9mm with the reduced size grip, but I haven't seen it.

Another vote for 9mm, but only if they reduce the fore-aft length of the grip

I wouldn't want them to do that! I want the feel of a real 1911 but shooting cheap ammo to be the only difference.

Wally,

Springfield (and I think Kimber) already produces 9mm 1911s. Other manufacturers, such as STI, also make 'em, but they are more for competition.

One of their micros is in .45 GAP, but I haven't heard about a 9mm, don't really care to either...
