what exactly does CCW stand for? concealed carry weapon???

and with a class III permit does it enable you to carry a automatic or suppressed gun if you have a CCW too or is it just to own?

and how far away from houses do you have to be to be legally shooting. 300 ft or yards?

sorry, im new to the "higher leagues" of firearms and im interested to get a class III to get a suppressor because I can then shoot in my semi rural neighborhood.

1 - Carry Concealed Weapon

2 - Wiser people than I will answer this, but I think class 3 is more of a stamp than a lic. I think you need one stamp per resticted item be it short barrel rifle, supressor, or fully-auto firearm. If you have a short barrel, supressed, fully auto weapon (you lucky dog) you will need THREE stamps for one gun.

3 - This will vary WILDLY from state to state, county to county, town to town. Best thing you can do is call your local law enforcement and a lawyer and make sure you get consensus.

Take care,
Charles

PS: I am not a lawyer the above are my opinions only and are worth less than what you paid me for them. Check with responsible officials and government agencies for the real answers.

A Class III license is for dealing in automatic weapons only. You have to actually sell/buy guns for a living, or you get in trouble. If you want to buy an automatic weapon or suppressor, you do not get a Class III license.

Read this, it'll tell you what you need to know.

Actually, no. If a gun is automatic, it can have a barrel less than 16" without needing a seperate tax stamp. That only applies ot semi auto/bolt action guns.

I can see some use for a suppressor, but I think full auto weapons are not worth the money or hassle to own one.
