Yeah, outlaw, but what we don't want is for some folks to think you can do that by good-eye on range judging and with inexperience at doping the wind.

I finally got around to setting up a 500-yard range at home, back in 1997. First time out I guessed at two feet of hold-off upwind. Seemed about right for a "breeze". Yeah, I'd guessed correctly, but then I'd already been messing with the '06 for over 40 years. Never have tried farther out, though.

Art ur absolutely right. New guys to shooting and I'd say most of the experienced guys never need to attempt a shot over 500 on animals especially with standard equipment. I only took those shots cause I needed to prove to myself I still could. LOL! Its really heartwarming to know u could make a kill shot at range if u needed to!! I'm kinda morbid like that tho!!

Morbid? No. When you can do it, it's not bragging.

But most guys can't do it, and we don't want to encourage them falsely.
