30-06 to 9.3x62

It should only require a relatively straightforward barrel swap. The bolt face should not be an issue, as the case heads are very very similar, in fact I think most american ammo manufactures use the same case blank as the 30-06. Some of the brass produced by foreign makers (Privi specifically) is slightly different from 30-06, but only slightly.

Good choice of caliber, the 9.3x62 is a very interesting round. I haven't had much time at all to develop a load for mine (grad school), but alot of people seem to have good luck with RL-15, IMR 4064, and Ramshot Big Game.

I think im going to try Big Game next. BTW, Graf and sons is a great source for cheap Prvi bullets and cases. Good luck with your barrel swap!

According to page 21 of the RCBS catalog, 9.3x62mm Mauser will fit in the same shellholder as the one used for the .30-06.

I'm 90% sure that means you won't have to change your bolt face at all because of that.

SAAMI case length for .30-06 = 2.494 in (63.3 mm)
SAAMI case length for 9.3x62mm = 2.44 in (62.0 mm)

SAAMI overall length for .30-06 = 3.34 in (85 mm)
SAAMI overall length for 9.3x62mm = 3.29 in (83.6 mm)

Those last two sets of data indicate that your bolt length is more than enough for the 9.3x62mm.
I'm unsure if you could have your barrel simply rechambered for the Mauser round, but doubtful, since the .30-06 is slightly longer, thus your chamber would probably be oversized.
My educated guess would be that you will simply need a new barrel installed and properly reamed for 9.3x62mm, something that a reasonable gunsmith should be able to pull off for ~$400 USD, depending on just how fancy you want the finish you want on the barrel itself.
