I have a M1A Super Match that I used to use in Highpower Service rifle competition. Scoped it will shot bullet to bullet (168gr Sierra’s) all day if kept cooled down. My question is has any one every used Speer’s 125gr. TNT HP 30 caliber bullet our of a 308 or 06 how does it shoot? I’m looking for a long range coyote round and one that fragments vary easily. The rifle shoots 150-165 gr. Hunting bullets as good as the Match bullet.

Thanks,

Turk

My Supermatch (1:12") shoots the 125TNT like a house on fire. It doesn't seem to care which powder or how much--regardless, it shoots into 1MoA or better with ease. I'm loading 40.0grs surplus 4895 in an LC case now to 2.75" (virtually zero recoil) and have shot cleans at 200yds on both rapid targets and if it weren't for the nut behind the buttplate, I'd have a clean 600yd reduced target as well. I cannot say enough good things about that cheap little bullet. I suspect it would be excellent against coyotes.

The wind drift starts to get scary at 300yds when compaired to any of the other match bullets (from a standpoint of not wanting to get pushed out of the 10-ring).**

**to clarify that--I don't shoot the 125 at 300 because a little bit of wind change in the middle of the string would result in a big dump in points--just not the best bullet for that rapidfire application. I shoot the 155 at 300 and 600.

The TNT is a very good bullet and will work just fine if your gun likes it. If you plan on keeping the hide, you will have some damage. If you don't keep the hide, then shoot away. I have never seen a shortage of coyotes.
