I've started several threads of late, because I'm a newb at rifle reloading. Well, here's another one.
I'm working up my load for a 308 Win light load and plan on using a 125 gr bullet. There are not very many choices. The one I like is the Sierra Pro-Hunter. But it does NOT have a cannelure. The Remington Managed Recoil ammo I have does.
How do you load a rifle bullet with no cannelure? Use a taper crimp as with a 45 ACP?
What effect will not having a cannelure have on velocity and consistency?
Anything else I should know before I choose this bullet?
Thanks for the help.
