.30 carbine 100 gr bullets

Hello all I came across some realy cheep bullets 400 for $20 from a guy at work that got them in some reloading equipment at an auction could someone look up the Speer load data for the .30 carbine 100 gr short jacket bullets for me as I do not have a Speer book ( need to get one) Thanks in advance for any help.

Are they lead or jacketed?

Go to the Hogden site for load data. Do you have any manuals? Why would you need Speer data?

The Speer 100gr half jacket load data is in the Lyman 49th Edition. What powder do you intend to use?

NRFJR: I think the the 100gr 1/2 jacketed bullet you are refering to is what Speer call`s the (( PLINKER )) there product number for these bullets is (( 1805 )). I have had a heck of a time finding them every body is out of stock. And I call SPEER and told them that and the Lady I was talking to, (( NO BS )) sent me a box in the mail and a copy of there of there loading data for both Pistol & Rifle. Speer said there accuraticy load was with AA No. 9 .
POWDER AA No 9 MIN 12.3 grs at 1908 FPS MAX 14.3 at 2185 FPS.
SPEER said just keep it above 1900 FPS. So I used 13.0 grs of AA No 9 and it has worked just great. SPEERS Loading Data Sheet has loads for 7 other powders if you need them. If I can help you any more, I would be proud to.

Thanks for the info, Do you use them in a rifle or a pistol, I have both, so I have a great deal of 2400 the little bullets shoot ok with the load data from Lyman #49 but the boxes are from speer and I wanted the info from them (just safer that way IMPO) I would love to have all the info on them if you have the time, I do not plan on buying the manual just yet as I do not shoot a lot of speer bullets. Thanks again and you were the only one that seemed to read the whole post and answer acordingly

From the Speer #12 Reloading Manual. This assumes you have the Speer 100 grain "Plinker" bullets, Speer #1805. The test firearm was a M1 Carbine. The C.O.L. was tested at 1.625"

AA#9 12.3 grains to a MAX 14.3 grains MV of 1908 to 2185 FPS

296 13.5 grains to a MAX 15.5 grains MV of 1756 to 2010 FPS (Note 1)

H110 12.5 grains to a MAX of 14.5 grains MV of 1678 to 1951 FPS (Note 1)

NOTE 1: Both 296 and H110 use a CCI Magnum Primer!

IMR 4227 13.5 grains to a MAX of 15.5 grains MV of 1693 to 1946 FPS

Viht. N110 11.0 grains to a MAX of 13.0 grains MV of 1696 to 1939 FPS (Note 2)

Note 2: This is a Compressed Load!

2400 10.5 grains to a MAX of 12.5 grains MV 1526 to 1817 FPS

You may want to note that while Speer does not recommend using magnum primers with this 2400 loading that when going to the Speer 110 grain family of bullets that a magnum primer is recommended.

IMR 4198 13.5 grains to a MAX of 15.5 grains MV 1459 to 1685 FPS (Note 2)

Note 2: This is a Compressed Load!

AA1680 14.0 to a MAX of 16.0 grains MV 1465 to 1677 FPS (Note 2)

Note 2: This is a Compressed Load!

NRFJR: I have a Blackhawk 30 Carbine 7/12 barrel also, and use the same load for both rifle and pistol, and IMHO it wooks just fine. Good Luck To You:
