I just recently picked up a 1945 Inland carbine and intend to start using it. Until I can get dies & components, I intend to shoot some factory ammo to build up brass for reloading the fun way.

What's the best brass cased ammo out there right now? I'm mostly looking at Prvi Partisan (both FMJ & SP). What about the rest?

Been reading the other current Carbine thread with interest. I know I want to find out for myself ;)

You have a fun gun to shoot! I also have an Inland carbine...1944. though I don't shoot mine very often( my grandson takes care of that job) I do reload when I need to. Can't let the supply get too low!

I have some Lake City brass as well as some Remington. I'm sure there are several other brands in there too.

The last set of reloads I used H-110 powder. I'd have to check for the primer brand.

The carbine brass seems to be "tough". I've read that its thicker so be sure to lube well when you size your cases.

have fun with your gun. Load 'em up...shoot 'em up!

All I have ever used is old GI brass.
I have a .50 cal ammo can full of it, and thats ALOT for my needs anymore!

I've found Aguila to be very inconsistent. But the brass is pretty good, IMO.

I just started loading for 30 carbine. Fun gun to shoot. Have some mixed brass from LC to Rem. I was told by one of the guys here, 2 things are of the utmost importance for 30 carbine.

1. LUBE!!!! Even though it's straight wall, it needs lube when you resize.
2. Make sure you check case length because it is very important after re-sizing, and be prepared to do some trimming.

Win 296 or H110 is the powder for the mil-spec load. I found good bullets, plated from X-stream and Berry's, and fmj's from Everglades. Hope this helps!

Have fun! It's a fun gun to shoot. My wife actually prefers shooting it over her AR.

Well to get the brass to reload, I ordered 200 rounds of Prvi Partisan JSP to start with. Good reviews for reliability in the carbine and I've liked their 7mm Mauser and other ammo for years. My "Norma" 7.7 Arisaka brass all actually has PPU on the headstamp too

Looking forward to shooting it up.

Don't have Academy around here (in the middle of northern Wisconsin). Ordered it from Widener's for $19.90 per box + s&h which was pretty reasonable. I can't get factory .45 ACP that cheap around here (yeah, I reload that one!) and I get started on the brass stock pile.

This place http://www.polygunbag.com/bullets.html usually has bullets and brass, but they're showing sold out. Give them a call, they seem to process tons of surplus ammo, and their inventory changes quickly. Gotta order by phone anyway. Good place, I've bought many thousands of bullets of all kinds from him.

Magtech would not be a consideration for me. I bought 500 rounds to shoot and save the brass, big mistake. Ammo quality seems ok but the brass is worthless. The primer pockets are oversized by quite a bit. About half have their primers fall out upon ejection. Early model universal, ww2 inland, and Blackhawk, same problem, so definitely not the gun.
Really disappointed in the Magtech , but found a good deal on some older Remington and the brass seems to be really uniform.

I ran my Inland through a carbine class. Remington SP ammo was what I used and it was great. At the very end of the class, I ran a magazine of PPU and had four failures. Switched back to Rem and all was well.

The PPU has been fine with a clean rifle, but after a 300 round class, not so much. The brass from both has been fine for reloading.
