AMT is supposedly bringing out an Auto-Mag III in .30 carbine sometime this year. Some company called Crusader Group apparently owns the AMT name now. They have no web page. Don't think I'd hold my breath for one though. They're a totally unknown company.

You could probably fine one of these somewhere. They also made a "Hunter" version with a 12" bbl, I don't know if it's available new from Taurus anymore?
Why not Ruger?
The Raging Thirty is no pocket pistol. Built on the same frame and with the same basic external dimensions as the .454 Raging Bull, it comes in matt-finished stainless steel with a ten-inch ventilated rib barrel, an eight-shot cylinder and fully adjustable sights. The 10" barrel also features a full-length underlug and a crown that’s recessed nearly a quarter of an inch back from the muzzle. No ports on this one; with tan overall loaded weight including the scope, tested at just two ounces under six pounds, no ports are needed. You’ve got so much weight on the Raging Thirty, and so much of it concentrated in that ten-inch heavy barrel, recoil is not a problem.
The Raging Thirty is also fitted with an angled rear thumbpiece cylinder latch, well proportioned one-piece soft rubber grip, smooth-faced trigger with frame-mounted overtravel triggerstop behind it, the Taurus Security System keylock in the rear of the hammer; and comes with a Weaver style stainless scope mountin grail and attachment hardware, along with five Taurus Stellar clips for loading and ejecting all eight rimless .30 Carbine rounds at once. It's an eight shooter.

Why not? It's not about power. It's about the firearm. Possibly wanting a handgun that uses the same ammo as his rifle. Even if that doesn't work.
A 10" barrel? Gezzuz. Weighs nearly 5 pounds too.

The most common revolver in .30 carbine is the Ruger New Model Blackhawk. Blued, 7 1/2" barrel, adjustable sights.

I'll trade my 3 screw Old model 7.5" .30 carb 95% for that beautiful pistol BluesBear posted!
I like my LOUD LOUD .30 carb gun for slaughtering live stock. I'm sure a .357 would do as well. I use Rem HP ammo in it , as I remember they chronographed in high 1300's. It will group in 1.5" rested at 25 yards all day long.I slaughters sheep and goats instantly if I have to shoot a running one (rare) thru the shoulders. Ball is not instant takinf about 30 seconds for them to drop with the same shot. I fooled around with sized down 105 grain Lyman 32-20 bullets with some unique , but I like the 32-20 better for these mellower loads. The Speer 100 grain plinker at 1600fps over an unpublishable amount of Lil Gun makes for an "interesting" and accurate load

I have a .30 Carbine Blackhawk. Accuracy is good. Terminal ballistics are supposed to be the same as a .357 but I can't say for sure as I've been hit by neither. I'm willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that the .30 Carbine has a louder bang and a bigger muzzle flash than a .357 though (It blows your hair back). It's a fun gun to shoot. In mine, I've found that the Magtech ammo works best/has better accuracy than most anything else. The cheap Federal stuff (American Eagle) expands too much and won't extract easily. I had to use a dowel on the extractor to get it out.
The .30 Carbine is probably underrated as a pistol/revolver cartridge.

Well, first off, I want to know what a Kimble is too... Anyway, I have noticed that more than a few guys have pointed out that its loud, but I was shooting my dads recently, and I didn't think it was any louder than any other handgun of comparable caliber, and in fact I said as much in a post I made a couple of days ago. Maybe I just had particularly good ears in that day or something....
It's a Kimball actually. Somewhat rare 30 carbine autoloader from circa 1950's, from Detroit I think and also had a 22hornet version too I think. Guns were prone to cracking too I think. I once passed an Automag III at like $200 once too!
And both my 357 and 30carbine revolvers have rifle partners so they do not get lonely!
