.30 Luger

I don't reload or shoot a 30 Luger but my Lyman 49th has one FMJ load and two cast bullet loads. Doesn't seem to be a very popular cartridge... ;)

I reload 30 Luger, using Berry's .312 90 grain plated, in Starline brass and HP38 at a little over 1030 FPS. Not exactly a hot load by any means.

My 1923 commercial has a slightly over-sized bore, so the soft .312 plated bullets work great. Unfortunately the 90 grainers have been discontinued, so when mu current stash runs out I'm going to have to try the 70s

Don't have one and have never loaded for it but Lyman 50 says

85gr FMJ HP38 3.9-4.2 1.175 OAL
75gr lead W231 4.2-4.7 1.125 OAL
85gr lead W231 3.9-4.4 1.125 OAL (Shows W231 as potentially most accurate)

Thanks.
Most manuals don't even list the cartridge. I found a load in P.O. Ackley's book but it was 5.0 gr. of Unique under a 93 grain fmj. That sounded a bit much to me. However, that was back in the day when velocity was king .. at any price.

Is that pistol that looks like an FN 1910 a Bufalo, a Danton, or none of the above, Chuck R? And how well does it work?

It's a Bufalo in .32 that I inherited. I've shot it once for 50rds with factory ball and it had no issues. It's a surprisingly well made little gun, sights are dismal, but the trigger's not bad.
