30 mm scope rings/bases

Hi all, I am getting my first 30mm scope and I am unsure what mounts/bases to use. I am mounting a tactical style/target scope on my Savage model 14 in .223 - the scope has a 45mm objective lens.

Previously I just used Leupold's STD mounts with 1" rings however I want something more beefy.

If you guys could recommend rings/bases that are solid and preferably steel it would be appreciated. Aluminum would work too, but I have no experience with its strength/durability.

The dealer I'm getting the scope from stocks EGW tactical aluminum rings/bases. Does this option work on a Savage model 14 in .223?

I have a Savage M40 in 22 Hornet. I wanted to try a 6X scope, specifically a steel tube Weaver, In the meantime I bought a 30MM Barska and mounted it in Barska rings on the Weaver bases that came on the rifle. I am very pleased and surprised by Barska.
