Have any of you ladies or gentlemen used MBC 300 GRAIN TC bullets in a 44 mag? I am interested in experimenting with this combo. It will be in a 7&1/2 inch SBH with Starline brass and WLP primers. I have Blue Dot,W296, Accurate #9 or Alliant Power Pistol available. The powder is not a big deal as I can get other propellents if necessary. Anyone who has a tried and true combination, your input will be appreciated.

I got some 300 gr TCs from Meister which appear to be the same mould that MBC uses I ran up to 19.0 gr WW296 with WLP primers and a heavy crimp they were very accurate, but that's a max load and was flatening the primers a little. It didn't seem to lose any accuracy dropping back to 18.5gr. I have since switched to a 310 gr Keith design SWC that has a lot more lead hanging out of the case that allows more powder space.

Thank you

Thank you Mavracer for your input. I am not looking to get a screaming hot load. I have some ideas now on where to start. I was hoping for a larger response but now I can at least get started.

No problem, I'm not familiar with power pistol but none of those other powders are especially well suited to mid range loads.
I would imagine Unique would work well for that purpose but I've never used it with 300 never seen the point of a lighter 300gr load. I shoot a lot of 240s with 10.0 of unique.

Power Pistol

PP is a little bit slower than Unique. I quit using Unique because I don't like the way it meters. I haven't loaded any 44s of any flavor in quite a while. I shot many light loads of lead 240s using 8 grains of Unique. I use a lot of Red Dot presently for 45ACP & 38 Special light plinking loads. I use Power Pistol for 9,45ACP,357 & 40 Jhp loads.I don't push the envelope on any of my hand loads. Thanks again for the info. I have enough W 296 for my load development and can get more if it works out.:fire:
